Purpose of Role
As a Family law paralegal to provide an outstanding service to the Family Team, being involved in all aspects of family law including preparing court documents, performing legal research and general administrative duties, working on a complete e-file basis.
Responsibilities include:
- Communication and liaison with Clients, Court and Counsel
- Preparation and collation of petitions, legal documents, including court forms and bundles for hearings (Adobe) and other important documents.
- Legal research, investigation and writing
- Opening/closing files, including compliance elements, such as client care letters, etc
- Monitoring outstanding matters of a compliance nature within the files as necessary
- Management of online court portal
- Drafting divorce applications and basic court documents for review
- Ensure all e-files records remain up to date.
- Performing general administrative duties and other as required
Qualifications
A minimum of 12 months experience working in Family Law environment
An undergraduate law degree/ non-law degree and a law conversion course/
Previous experience in a paralegal role
