Newmarket Half Marathon – Sunday 31 st May 2026

Industry news and our stories

The first fundraiser of 2026 is already underway at Edmondson Hall Solicitors, building on last year’s efforts when members of the team completed part of a 520km cycle to raise awareness and funds for local foodbanks.

Supporting our local community remains central to what we do. Each year, we choose a local charity to support through fundraising and awareness. This year, we are proud to be supporting Suffolk Mind, with a focus on raising awareness of mental health and ensuring our team is better equipped with the knowledge and understanding to support wellbeing both inside and outside of the workplace.

Mental health affects everyone, yet it is not always visible. You never truly know what someone else may be going through, and often the support people need is available in ways they may not even be aware of. Suffolk Mind provides vital services across Suffolk, offering help, guidance and practical support to individuals, families and workplaces – help that can make a real difference at the moments it is needed most.

By working with Suffolk Mind this year, we hope not only to raise funds but also to encourage open conversations, reduce stigma, and improve understanding across our team at Edmondson Hall and the wider Newmarket community.

As part of our fundraising efforts, two members of our team are taking on the Newmarket Half Marathon on Sunday 31st May 2026, starting at the iconic Rowley Mile Racecourse. Isabelle Hulme, Paralegal, and Isla Cockerton, Apprentice in Law, will each be running 13.1 miles as part of this challenging event, pushing themselves in support of a cause close to all of us at Edmondson Hall Solicitors.

Isabelle says:

“Training for a half marathon is tough, but it’s nothing compared to the challenges many people face every day with their mental health. If this run can raise awareness, start conversations, or contribute to support services – then every mile will be worth it.”

Isla adds:

“It is easy to forget how beneficial movement is for our mental health, whether that be running, going to the gym, or just going for a walk. Whilst training and running are physically demanding, the mental benefits are often overlooked, especially for those of us working in offices daily. Suffolk Mind does inspiring work in raising awareness, providing support and destigmatising mental health, which is why I will be raising money to support their cause.”

We are incredibly proud of their commitment and determination, and we wish them and all participants in the event the very best of luck on race day.
