At Edmondson Hall, we are delighted to announce that our Charity of the Year for 2025 is The Giving Tree — a brilliant initiative launched by The Chestnut Group to help tackle food poverty across East Anglia.
The Giving Tree supports local food banks through both financial and physical donations, supplying emergency food parcels, warehousing, staffing, and delivery support to ensure essential items reach those who need them most. Their mission is to reduce food insecurity and offer real, practical help to families and individuals facing hardship across the region.
As part of our commitment, Edmondson Hall has made donations to the Newmarket Community Pantry, based at the Racing Centre — and we will continue to support them throughout the year. The Pantry provides affordable food and household essentials to local people through a membership-based system, giving individuals and families access to groceries in a way that promotes dignity, choice, and sustainability while reducing food waste.
This week, four of our team — Debbie, Elisabeth, Mike and Martin — proudly took part in Pedals with Purpose: The Chestnut Cycle Safari 2025, a fantastic fundraising event in support of The Giving Tree.
The Chestnut team is cycling an incredible 520km in just four days, visiting 10 food banks across Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, and Essex. Our team joined one leg of the journey on a beautifully sunny (and very warm!) day, cycling 20km from Newmarket through Warren Hill, Moulton, and Gazeley, before finishing at The Weeping Willow in Barrow.
The Cycle Safari aims to raise £30,000 for the cause — and we’re proud to have done our part in pedalling with purpose.
If you’d like to show your support, donations can be made via the campaign’s JustGiving page: https://gofund.me/dfa5634c
A huge thank you to everyone taking part and supporting this initiative.
