Giving Back to the Community: Edmondson Hall Solicitors’ Charity of the Year 2025
Serving and supporting the local community is an integral part of Edmondson Hall Solicitors’ ethos. For 2025, the team at this multi-service boutique law firm, based at the historic Kisber Villa in Newmarket, chose to focus their fundraising efforts on food based poverty locally.
Working alongside the Chestnut Group’s Giving Tree initiative, via a varied and successful programme of fundraising events, the Edmondson Hall team raised an impressive £5,843.73 in support of local food banks. Alongside this, the team collected food donations throughout the year and made multiple contributions to the Newmarket Community Pantry at the Racing Centre, helping local people access affordable, nutritious food while maintaining dignity.
One of the year’s fundraising highlights was the Giving Tree’s Cycle Safari, a gruelling 520km ride visiting 10 food banks across the region. Edmondson Hall was proud to have CEO Deborah Hargreaves, Partner and Head of Private Client Mike Lambert, Partner and Head of Family Law Elisabeth Sneade, and Partnership Director Martin Lane take part in one leg of the challenge. Fundraising efforts continued back in the office, with activities including a popular charity Christmas cake sale.
The year concluded with a successful Gallery Evening held at Edmondson Hall’s offices, showcasing the work of artist David ‘Mouse’ Cooper. The event also featured an impressive charity raffle and auction, led by Tattersalls’ Katherine Sheridan and was supported by the enthusiasm of Edmondson Hall staff, clients, and guests, as well as the generosity of local businesses who donated prizes to help make the event such a success.
Commenting on the year, CEO Deborah Hargreaves said:
“This fundraising effort reflects the values at the heart of our firm – purpose, teamwork and service. I’m very proud of the team for their efforts to support those affected by food poverty and very grateful to everyone who helped make this possible.”
